After lurking here for a while, I happened to see a post about a good price on a BX-22. Two sleepless nights later, I couldn't take it anymore and called the dealer in Fresno, CA. For $15,600 plus tax, I got the BX-22 plus a box scraper.
I've had it for about 2 1/2 months now, and every time I use it, I'm more impressed. I became the most popular guy in our neighborhood...can you move some dirt for me...can you dig a fish pond for me...can you dig out a stump for me?? Although the neighbors do look at me a little weird when I'm washing it...you're washing a tractor?? I know some of you understand completely.
Yes it is small, and it does take a lot longer to do some things than a bigger tractor, but it is amazing how well it does. I have built a pad, spread base rock and sand, and dug stumps, footings, and water lines for a shop.
It hasn't been perfect though, the seat broke in the first five hours...very poor design of the turning mechanism...easily fixed. Some of the nuts holding a panel on the backhoe weren't tightened properly and I lost a couple on the trip home. Again easily fixed.
To sum it up, there have been very few purchases in my life that I'm as happy with as this tractor.

Did you get the box scraper and the BX22 for that price? If so that is very good price.
I know how you feel about keeping it clean I wash and wax it.(wife rolls her eyes). I am happy with mine, you allways hear "get a bigger one with more power" but for me with my size lot(5acres) anymore would be a waste.
I have also had some minor problems: two leaks both were loose nuts, 1 on the hoe and 1 was a loose drain plug. Also the seat bolt is lost must have came loose from turning the seat around.(easy fixes)
I guess what suprised me the most besides the power of this little tractor, is how easy everything comes off/on. I'm allways changing implements.
Hope your good luck continues and watch out for the ROPS going in and out of buildings. ....

Yup, I'm in love with my BX22 too. I told my wife we had some serious change invested in that tractor and I needed a pressure washer to take care of it. With a nod from Mrs. Moneypenny it was off to Home Depot :-). And then a rock tumbles out of the fel and puts a substantial dent in the hood. Like the saying goes: Take a picture of it now 'cause it ain't gonna be new forever.

Glenn, I don't think I ever seen a loader bucket with teeth on a BX22. Is that an option or did you do that yourself. ....

I bought my BX 22 from Pioneer Equipment in Fresno, CA. I got the tractor plus a box scrapper for $15,600 plus tax. My local dealer would only come within $300, and no box scraper. Made my decision to go out of town to another dealer pretty easy.
On my seat problem, the nut that holds the seat on tightens or loosens depending on which way you turn the seat. Mine actually broke the bolt. I put in a new bolt and a lock nut...no problems and the seat works better. ....
